Mike Mikolay from the Guilford Rotary Club took us all to get ice cream at Ashley’s and presented us with a generous donation! He told Brett that he hopes his young son turns out just like him. Brett thought about that and said,”Well, you might not want him to be exactly like me, I’ve had my ups and downs.”
What an amaazing night! We had 75 people, adults and children, and the whole restaurant at the Aqua to ourselves. The tables were set beautifully with blue and green helium ballons tied to bottles of h2ope water. Cheif and Stephan played guitar and sang while people came in and mingled. The food was delicious and kept coming! Display tables were set up in front with t-shirts, examples of the change collection cans, the gift cards, and a large poster board showed pictures of each of the three projects Ucan2 is involved in. H2ope set up a display table too. Brett gave one of his best presentations and our friends and family got to see all of things we have been up to. I was afraid to give my part of the speech, but as soon as started talking about what I am so passionate about, te words just came and I was very pleased. The energy and momentum of the night lingered for weeks.
Thanks to all who made it such an incredible night for us.
I don’t know how he does it, but Brett stood up in front of over 100 high school students to give his presentation. He had a couple of great one liners.

Today Brett was awarded the highest award the Rotary can give. He was very honored and appreciative of the beautiful certificate and pins given to him by Mr. Benson. It was a lunch meeting at Friends & Co. Brett thanked his parents for taking him all over to do his presentations and the Rotary for the award. Someone asked if he is the youngest recipient. We are so proud of him.

They were so moved by the work that Simplay Smiles is doing and the effort that Skylar has made to help them. With the $600 they gave, we ca buy a lot of clothes on clearance when the season is over!!

3rd grader Micky Wherle contacted us to say that he was going to ask for donations to Ucan2′s LifeStraw project after hearing Brett speak at his school. We gave him some crazy straws to send home as favors to remind his friends abouut the LifeStraw and he gave us a cool poster they made with an amazing donation.
A big bunch of us walked in our Ucan2 shirts along with the Shoreline Connection. So much fun to see everyone on this beautiful day!! Next year, we want to makea float and ride in style!!
