UCAN Too!

Claim your own domain.name.

A durable fully-qualified domain.name — first.last, vanity, or any alias — free when uncontested, registered by a participating ISP that already serves you.

Your name should not depend on an annual fee to a registrar or a single administrative approval process. The fully-qualified domain.name is the commodity.

How it works for you

  1. Choose a participating ISP (or encourage yours to join).
  2. Associate your humanity verification with that ISP. Worldcoin-style proof of personhood is a reference; approved oAuth paths (including the ISP’s own authentication) can be accepted.
  3. The ISP receives a claim token (issued after reverse-DNS verification of their network). You request the name through them.
  4. Submit a uCRS (UCAN Claim-Request-Staking) with a public justification — a GitHub reference, LinkedIn profile, post, or other durable public material that explains why this name belongs to you.
  5. The blockchain registry records the claim. If uncontested and the justification holds, the domain.name is yours under the cooperative rules. Renewal terms start short and lengthen with demonstrated legitimacy.

First.last, vanity, or any alias

Prefer your real name? first.last works. Prefer something distinctive? Vanity names and other aliases are available. The system (or its agent) can decide, based on published evidence, whether a given request qualifies for free use or should be treated as a paid/premium claim.

What happens if someone contests it

You will be notified. The challenger must publish their own justification and put stake at risk. You can improve your reference material, gather supportive stakes from other ISPs that recognize you, or choose not to renew a weak claim. Higher levels of dispute involve agentic review, operator votes, or larger courts. See the conflict levels.

You associate with one ISP for a given claim. That ISP is responsible for processing the request and for matching or challenging state when disputes arise. Other ISPs can still support your humanity with additional stakes.
