Register domain.names for your customers.
Become an approved operator. Prove control of your network via reverse DNS, install open-source DNS, and register free (or tiny-cost) domain.names for your active customers. There is one blockchain registry for all domain.names.
What ISPs do
- Prove control of an IP block via reverse DNS (ARPA) TXT records. This is the root of authority.
- Register with the Gold / UDNS server. A successful rDNS verification mints an initial allocation of claim tokens (scarce by design).
- Install open-source DNS software capable of serving both ordinary domains and UCAN claims (key-value NS+TTL pairs that augment traditional queries).
- Run or integrate an agent that processes client requests from within your address space, accepts approved oAuth or humanity methods, and submits uCRS on behalf of verified active customers.
- Notify current holders, match state in disputes, and optionally support other humans with additional stakes.
- Participate in standards discussions and operator voting in higher-level disputes.
Token economics for operators
Tokens are not intended as a monetary asset. They create scarcity so that an ISP cannot over-allocate claims without unique, durable humanity. Abusive or short-lived claims reduce future allocation and trust. Strength and longevity of existing claims improve the ability to issue more.
Renewal and legitimacy
Claim terms start short and lengthen in increments based on staking amount, number of mutually exclusive ISP humanity verifications, or other immutable legitimacy signals. Renewal can occur at any time provided no competing claim or open dispute exists. The published justification must remain valid and working.
Call to action
If you operate a network and believe namespace authority should be more open and cooperative — and that every human should be able to freely register their own domain.name — join the discussions. Help define the open-source DNS requirements, the UPP interfaces, the UDNS server protocol, and the dispute rules.
A Cloudflare-hosted UDNS server is an attractive early deployment path. Long-term, first-class support inside existing DNS infrastructure is the goal.
